Road Trip in Florida

IMG_0997.jpeg
🇺🇸 Journey through the land where anything is possible: 3 weeks in Florida!

Three weeks exploring Florida is the perfect combo of vibrant cities, dream beaches, theme parks, wild nature, and a touch of American culture.

Here’s my itinerary — between parties, discoveries, and unforgettable adventures.

🌆 Miami: sun, skyline & unforgettable nights

First stop: Miami, a city blending modernity, Latin culture, art, and beaches.

I enjoyed rooftops with incredible skyline views at Rosa Sky Hotel, perfect for sunsets.

Between Spring Break, the Ultra Music Festival, and nightlife on Ocean Drive, the vibes never stop.

But Miami is also Wynwood, a district entirely covered in street art — ideal for strolling, taking photos, and discovering trendy cafés.

I also made a quick stop in Little Havana, where you dive into Cuban culture with cigars, salsa, and Cuban coffee.

🐊 The Everglades: face-to-face with nature

Just an hour from Miami, the vibe changes: the Everglades, a wild and wet territory.

I went on an airboat ride — those propeller boats skimming over the water — to spot alligators, birds, and even raccoons. A true Floridian experience.

🌴 Road trip to Key West: the island highway

From Miami, I took the Overseas Highway, one of the most beautiful roads in the USA.

It links all the Florida Keys: Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key, and finally Key West.

Each stop has its charms: snorkeling, kayaking, wild beaches, or fresh seafood.

In Key West, I visited Ernest Hemingway’s house, spotted some six-toed cats, and especially enjoyed the sunset at Mallory Square — a magical moment with musicians, artists, and food trucks.

➡️ Fun fact: The Southernmost Point in Key West is only 145 km from Cuba.

🎢 Orlando: the land of theme parks

Next stop: Orlando, the world capital of entertainment.

I visited Universal Orlando Resort with its 3 parks:

• Universal Studios Florida (cinema & shows)

• Islands of Adventure (thrill rides)

• Volcano Bay (water park)

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is amazing: the Hogwarts Express, wand shops, immersive rides… even the drinks are themed (cheers to Butterbeer 🍺🪄)!

🏒 Tampa: sports, thrills & culture

In Tampa, I attended an NHL game with the Tampa Bay Lightning. The atmosphere is incredible, even if you’re new to hockey.

But Tampa is also the historic district of Ybor City, the cradle of Cuban culture in Florida, famous for its old cigar factories and street art.

🌊 Venice: relaxation, beaches & shark tooth hunting

Final stop: Venice, a charming little coastal town.

Its beach, Venice Beach, is known as the world capital of fossilized shark teeth. You can collect them on the sand at low tide — a real natural treasure!

The vibe is calmer here — perfect for relaxing, enjoying a seaside meal, and ending the road trip gently with a beautiful sunset.

✈️ In summary: Why choose Florida?

  • ✅ Sunshine nearly all year round

  •  ✅ Paradise beaches

  • ✅ Huge theme parks

  • ✅ Parties & festivals

  • ✅ Wild and accessible nature

  • ✅ American culture with Caribbean influences

Malta

🇲🇹 One week in Malta: parties, turquoise beaches & heritage

One week in Malta is the perfect balance between cultural visits, dreamy natural spots, typical villages, and lively nights.

Here are the highlights of my trip, plus a few gems not to miss.

🏰 Valletta, the vibrant historic capital

My trip began in Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

I wandered its narrow cobblestone streets lined with colorful wooden balconies — typical of Maltese baroque style.

I visited Fort St. Elmo, an impressive bastion that once protected the port, and explored the Upper Barrakka Gardens with their stunning panoramic view over the Three Cities.

🌊 Gozo & Comino: wild islands with turquoise waters

One of the highlights of this trip was, of course, the excursion to Gozo and Comino.

Both islands are accessible by boat and are a paradise for beach lovers, divers, and nature seekers.

• In Comino, the famous Blue Lagoon offers fluorescent-blue waters, perfect for swimming or snorkeling.

• In Gozo, I explored Victoria’s citadel, wandered the traditional streets, and visited Ramla Bay, known for its orange sand.

🎣 Marsaxlokk & St. Peter’s Pool: local charm & wild swimming

On the east coast, I discovered Marsaxlokk, an authentic fishing village famous for its colorful boats (the “luzzus”) and its Sunday market.

A short drive away, I reached the spectacular St. Peter’s Pool,  a natural pool surrounded by cliffs.

The spot is perfect for jumping in, swimming, or just relaxing with breathtaking views.

📍 Tip: bring sneakers for the walk down, the path is a bit rocky.

🧡 Mdina, the silent city

Mdina is a true gem.

This former medieval capital sits atop a hill, entirely enclosed by ramparts.

I loved getting lost in its silent streets, among golden stone buildings, ancient doors, and a timeless atmosphere.

🌊 Mellieħa & Golden Bay: total chill

Heading north for a relaxing day.

In Mellieħa, I enjoyed one of Malta’s largest sandy beaches — perfect for sunbathing.

A little further, I ended the day at Golden Bay, a stunning beach surrounded by cliffs. The sunset here is not to be missed!

🍸 Paceville: Malta’s nightlife hotspot

Want to go out ? Head to Paceville, Malta’s most vibrant district for partying.

Here I tried the famous nightclub street — very popular in summer, with a young and festive vibe.

A must: the Bellini Shot Bar, known for its colorful shots and fun atmosphere.

For a more memorable night, I went to Gianpula Village, a huge open-air complex near Rabat with DJs, pools, bars, and shows.

One of Malta’s best party spots, especially in summer!

🌅 Café del Mar: chill & sunset vibes

To end my trip smoothly, I visited Café del Mar Malta in Qawra.

It’s the perfect place to relax: infinity pool, seaside restaurant, lounge music, and magical sunsets.

If you want to rest after a few intense days, this is the spot you can’t miss...

🧳 In summary: Malta in one week means…
  • 🇲🇹 A mix of Mediterranean culture, party vibes & paradise beaches

  • 🏖️ A variety of spots: nature, beaches, architecture, villages, nightlife

  • 🎥 A perfect setting for creating authentic, sunny lifestyle UGC content

  • 💰 An affordable destination with great value for money

🇦🇺 One Month Van Road Trip on Australia’s East Coast : Freedom, Nature & Encounters

Doing a one-month van road trip from Cairns to Melbourne means experiencing Australia the way it’s meant to be lived: in total freedom.

Sleeping by the ocean, waking up to sunrise views, spotting wildlife, meeting travelers from all over the world… This journey was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.

🚐 Australian Van Life: True Freedom

I traveled the coast by van, which allowed me to stop wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted.

From deserted beaches to national parks and small local towns, it’s the best way to explore Australia at your own pace.

🛻 Tip: Use apps like Wikicamps or CamperMate to find incredible free camping spots.

🌴 Mission Beach: Alone Facing the Infinite

Mission Beach was love at first sight.
A huge, completely empty beach with 32°C (90°F) water. I spent hours there, facing the ocean in total silence. A true escape.

🏝️ Fitzroy Island: A Hidden Paradise

Before heading down the coast, I took a trip to Fitzroy Island, just off Cairns.
White sandy beaches, coral reefs accessible straight from the shore for snorkeling, turquoise waters…

A preserved tropical paradise, still untouched by mass tourism.

✈️ Airlie Beach & Scenic Flight Over the Great Barrier Reef

In Airlie Beach, I flew over the Great Barrier Reef in a small plane.
The Whitsundays, Heart Reef, the endless shades of blue…

An image I’ll never forget.

🌈 Rainbow Beach & Fraser Island (K’gari)

At Rainbow Beach, colorful sand dunes meet the ocean.
Just across the water lies K’gari (Fraser Island), accessible by 4WD or organized tours.

You can spend three days there driving on the beach, camping in nature, swimming in Lake McKenzie, and spotting wild dingoes.

🌳 Thrill guaranteed — it’s one of the only places in the world where you can drive on a sand island!

🌟 Noosa: Style, Nature & Chill Vibes

In Noosa, the atmosphere shifts to something more chic yet relaxed — a bit like an Australian Saint-Tropez.
Noosa National Park is stunning, with coastal trails and hidden coves along the ocean.

🐾 Meeting Kangaroos : Sanctuary & Wild Encounters

In Brisbane, I visited an Australian wildlife sanctuary where I learned more about kangaroos and supported local wildlife conservation.

But the most magical moment was seeing wild kangaroos, completely free, unexpectedly on the side of the road.

Simple, spontaneous, and unforgettable.

🌊 Gold Coast, Byron Bay & Surf Vibes

From Surfers Paradise to the waves of Byron Bay and sunsets at Cape Byron Lighthouse, this part of the journey is perfect for surf lovers and free spirits.

🧘 Byron Bay has a unique energy — blending wellness, music, and a laid-back lifestyle.

🏙️ Sydney: The Australian Icon

A stop in Sydney is a must.
The Opera House, Bondi and Manly beaches, nightlife, the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, markets…

It’s a city that truly has it all.

🎨 Melbourne: The Urban Soul

I ended the trip in Melbourne — artistic, open-minded, cosmopolitan.
They say you can experience four seasons in one day, and I definitely did !

Street-art-covered laneways, specialty coffee shops, a vibrant music scene…

You feel at home instantly.

🧳 In Summary: One Month on Australia’s East Coast Means…
  • 🚐 Total freedom through van life

  • 🏝️ Dream beaches (Mission Beach, Whitsundays, Fitzroy Island)

  • 🐨 Wildlife encounters (koalas, dingoes, kangaroos)

  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Authentic, spontaneous human connections

  • 🌇 Unforgettable cities like Sydney and Melbourne

An adventure that changes you — one road, one sunrise, one encounter at a time. 🌏✨

Bulgarie

🇧🇬 A Few Days in Sofia: History, Nature & Gastronomy

A short stay in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, turned out to be a wonderful surprise.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Vitosha, the city offers a unique blend of culture, history, and nature.

Wherever you are in the city, you can see the mountain in the background, giving Sofia a very special atmosphere.

🏛️ A Mix of Soviet and Orthodox Influences

Sofia carries strong historical influences :

  • Soviet-era monuments

  • A powerful presence of Orthodox religious architecture

Including the impressive Alexander Nevsky Cathedral — the city’s true symbol with its golden domes

Every street tells part of the story, from austere communist-era buildings to centuries-old churches.

🍲 Eating Well Without Breaking the Bank

Another highlight : you can eat extremely well for very little money.

Local dishes like banitsa, shopska salad, kebapche, and grilled specialties are delicious, generous, and affordable. In summer, many restaurants and cafés offer lovely outdoor terraces.

🏞️ A Must-Do Escape: The Seven Rila Lakes

From Sofia, I highly recommend a day trip to the Seven Rila Lakes.

🇪🇸 Menorca & Mallorca : A Journey in Two Parts, Between Wild Coves and Natural Freedom

A trip between Menorca and Mallorca — two neighboring islands, yet completely unique — perfect for a Mediterranean escape blending nature, adventure and relaxation.

🏝️ Menorca: Wild, Authentic & Full of Surprises

From the moment I arrived in Mahón, the island’s port capital, I felt its relaxed and colorful atmosphere.
On the other side, Ciutadella completely charmed me with its stunning historic center, noble architecture, and stone alleyways.

Along the way, I took time to explore typical villages like Es Mercadal and Alaior — both absolutely worth visiting for their authenticity and peaceful vibe.

🥾 An Unforgettable Coastal Trail: Cap d’Artrutx to Cala en Porter

One of my best memories was hiking from Cap d’Artrutx to Cala en Porter, following the coastline and passing one breathtaking cove after another.

Each stop felt magical, with turquoise waters and wild beaches accessible only on foot.
Exhausting but absolutely worth it.

I would do it all over again without hesitation.

🛵 Exploring Menorca by Scooter: Total Freedom

I then rented a scooter to explore the island at my own pace — honestly, the best way to get around Menorca.

Thanks to that freedom, I discovered:

  • The stunning Playa Cavallería, with its golden sand and untouched landscapes

  • Cala Pregonda, with almost unreal colors

  • An unforgettable sunset at Cala Morell — a suspended moment facing the horizon

🌊 Hidden Coves, Slow Living & Crystal Waters

You can’t talk about Menorca without mentioning its spectacular coves :

  • Cala en Brut, perfect for diving into natural pools

  • Son Bou Beach, long, peaceful and less crowded

  • Cala del Pilar, more rugged and secluded, with a raw natural charm

  • Each cove has its own personality, and the water is always incredibly clear.

☀️ An Island Still Preserved from Mass Tourism

What struck me most about Menorca is its authenticity.
Far from heavy crowds, life feels slower here — you take time to breathe, to disconnect, to simply enjoy the moment.

Between active hikes, secret swims, local discoveries, and sunny slow living, it’s an island that brings you back to what truly matters.

📌 In Summary :

🇪🇸 After Menorca… Heading to Mallorca !

The largest of the Balearic Islands — more developed, more vibrant, yet just as beautiful. 🛵

🛵 Exploring the Island by Scooter

To discover Mallorca, I once again chose a scooter — total freedom to ride from Palma to Formentor, then all the way to Cala d’Or, crossing incredibly diverse landscapes along the way.

  • Palma, the capital, is lively, historic, and a pleasure to explore

  • Cap de Formentor offers breathtaking panoramic views over the sea

  • Cala d’Or, more peaceful, is perfect for relaxing with its crystal-clear coves

🚂 A Journey Back in Time to Sóller

From Palma, I took the historic early 20th-century train to Sóller, a charming and authentic village nestled in a valley.

The journey itself is an experience: a wooden train winding through mountains, orange groves, and small tunnels…
It truly feels like stepping back in time.

🌊 Beaches, Hidden Coves & Spectacular Scenery

Mallorca is the perfect destination to find everything you’re looking for :

  • Fine sandy beaches

  • Secret turquoise-water coves

  • Scenic coastal roads along dramatic cliffs

  • Unforgettable viewpoints like Sa Calobra and Torrent de Pareis

Belgique 🇧🇪

A Quick Road Trip Through Belgium: Charm, History & Crispy Fries

A road trip across Belgium is totally doable in just a few days!
From Brussels to Durbuy, via Bruges and Ghent, I discovered a small yet incredibly rich country — full of history, culture, gastronomy… and of course, fries!

🏛️ Brussels: A Vibrant, Cosmopolitan Capital

There’s no better place to start than Brussels, the capital of Belgium (and Europe !).
Between the stunning Grand Place, delicious waffles, fascinating museums, and the famous Manneken Pis, the city blends historic charm with a modern, lively atmosphere.

🌉 Bruges: The Romantic One

A true favorite: Bruges, often called the Venice of the North.
With its canals, cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and peaceful ambiance, it’s the ultimate romantic city.

As the capital of West Flanders, it’s perfect for wandering aimlessly — simply enjoying the beauty around you.

🏰 Ghent & Its Medieval Castle

In Ghent, another must-see Flemish city, I visited the impressive Gravensteen Castle, dating back to the 12th century, right in the heart of the city.

The atmosphere is unique — a mix of medieval history and vibrant urban life, with a strong student energy and lovely cafés along the canals.

🏡 Durbuy: The Smallest City in the World

In the Belgian Ardennes, I ended the trip in Durbuy, often nicknamed “the smallest city in the world.”

With its cobbled streets, castle dating back to 1078, and timeless charm, it’s the perfect stop to slow down and enjoy a peaceful, green setting.

📌 In Summary :

  • 🇧🇪 A quick Belgian road trip

  • 🌉 Bruges, the Venice of the North

  • 🏰 Ghent & its 12th-century castle

  • 🏡 Durbuy, a charming Ardennes gem

🌏 From Kuala Lumpur to Bali & Beyond: A Waking Dream

Some journeys leave a mark.

Not just because of the landscapes you see — but because of how deeply you live them.

We set off on a one-month adventure through Southeast Asia: Kuala Lumpur, Bali, the Nusa Islands, the Gilis, Komodo…

From the rice fields of Ubud to the dragons of Komodo, from Amed’s black-sand beaches to the cliffs of Nusa Penida, it was an intense, beautiful collection of unforgettable moments.

🇲🇾 Stop 1: Kuala Lumpur – Skyscrapers, Temples & Street Food

We began in Kuala Lumpur with a one-day stopover and one evening to dive into the Asian atmosphere.

A city where modernity meets tradition: the Petronas Towers lighting up the night, the Hindu temples of Batu Caves, bustling night markets, and the scent of spices everywhere.

Rooftop bars offered incredible sunset views, and the street food instantly awakened our taste buds.

🌴 Stop 2: Ubud – The Spiritual Heart of Bali

After the urban energy, we landed in Bali and headed to Ubud to reconnect.

Everything here breathes serenity: the Tegalalang rice terraces, sacred temples, walks through the Monkey Forest, and jungle-view cafés.

We woke up each morning to birdsong, surrounded by lush greenery.

We explored Ubud Market, bought sarongs, rode scooters, and embraced the island’s slow rhythm.

🌄 Stop 3: Pupuan, Munduk & Lovina – Jungle, Waterfalls & Dolphins

Heading north, we reached Pupuan — remote, authentic, perfect for disconnecting.

We slept facing the jungle, lulled by the sound of water.

In Munduk, we chased waterfalls hidden in dense vegetation, surrounded by the scent of moss and humidity.

In Lovina, we woke at 5am for a sunrise boat ride, dolphins swimming freely around us.

A soft, suspended moment — just the two of us in the middle of the ocean.

💦 Stop 4: Sekumpul – Bali’s Most Spectacular Waterfalls

Probably the most impressive spot of the entire trip. 🌺

You hike for a while, descend hundreds of steps, cross small streams…

And then — Sekumpul waterfalls. Tall, powerful, breathtaking.

We swam in cool, clear water at the foot of the falls, completely alone.

Raw, magical, goosebump-inducing nature.

🐠 Stop 5: Amed – Black Sand & Slow Living

On Bali’s quieter east coast, we discovered Amed.

A peaceful fishing village by the sea.

We snorkeled around the Japanese shipwreck, watched sunsets over Mount Agung, and ate in small family-run warungs.

Amed felt like authentic, gentle, real Bali.

🌋 Stop 6: Mount Batur – Sunrise Above the Clouds

One of the most powerful moments of the journey:

The night ascent of Mount Batur :

  • 2:30 am wake-up call

  • Headlamps on

Climbing in the dark, slipping, breathing hard — but pushing through.

And at the top… sunrise above the clouds.

Silence. Vastness. Magic.

We drank coffee heated over a wood fire at 1,700 meters altitude.

For that moment alone, the trip was worth it.

🏝️ Stop 7: The Gili Islands – Bikes, Turtles & White Sand

We explored the three Gili Islands — three vibes, one paradise:

  • Gili Trawangan : lively and festive

  • Gili Air : balanced and laid-back

  • Gili Meno : quiet and wild

No cars — just walking or cycling.

Morning snorkeling, afternoon hammock time, and fiery sunsets

The Gili Islands are a true little slice of paradise — simple, peaceful, and perfect for reconnecting with yourself. 🌴✨

🏞️ Stop 8: Nusa Penida, Lembongan & Ceningan – Cliffs & Turquoise Lagoons

After the Gilis, we headed to the Nusa Islands.

On Nusa Penida, we were blown away by Kelingking Beach and its T-Rex-shaped cliffs. The descent to the beach is steep — but unforgettable.

We also explored Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong — dramatic, surreal landscapes.

Lembongan and Ceningan felt calmer: secret beaches, yellow suspension bridges, turquoise lagoons, and cafés with your feet in the sand.

The perfect setting to relax and truly enjoy the moment . ✨

🐉 Stop 9: Komodo Cruise – Three Magical Days

We flew to Labuan Bajo (Flores Island) for a 3-day cruise through Komodo National Park.

Every day brought new wonders:

  • Snorkeling with manta rays

  • Hiking Padar Island for panoramic views

  • Seeing Komodo dragons in their natural habitat

  • Sleeping on the boat under the stars

Timeless, wild, unreal.

🌅 Stop 10: Uluwatu & Canggu – Cliffs, Surf & Sunset Vibes

Back in Bali for the grand finale :

Uluwatu for dramatic cliffs, wild beaches (Padang Padang, Bingin…), breathtaking sunsets, and its temple perched above the ocean.

Canggu for surf, trendy cafés, colorful smoothie bowls, boutique shopping, and relaxed energy.

The perfect way to unwind before heading home.
